Completely unrelated, but in the film, during the whole ‘help I’m being crushed by a gate underwater’, Joel Shumaker reversed the film. Blatantly. He did the same fuckin’ thing in the Batman movies -_-

And Raoul is a douche. I didn’t like him in Phantom of the Opera, and when I saw ‘Love Never Dies’ in London, I hated him more. I always feel for the underdogs, no matter how super crazy they are. If someone is too perfect, I want to hit them with a bag of dicks.

Has anyone anywhere ever liked Raoul?

I mean, in the stage version he fucking dives into the sewers of Paris of swims after Christine. And there’s the sword fight. When you get down to it, none of the characters in that story are incredibly compelling or deep or multi-faceted but I feel like people forget that and try to make The Phantom these great character and Raoul some lame character.
I don’t hate The Phantom because he’s disfigured or because he’s had a hard life. I dislike him (as a romantic interest for Christine) because he fucking kidnaps her (twice) and she is terrified of him. To be honest I wish she would find a third option or just go her own way because girl needs to learn how to take care of herself and to love a guy who isn’t so directly attached to her love for her dead father but if I had to choose between Raoul and The Phantom…I’m gonna go with the guy who will, you know, let her see the goddamn sunlight. 

(And damnit, tumblr, don’t credit this to Elise Archer. I need to figure out this reblogging after multiple people thing. I keep screwing it up and having my text show up under someone else’s name.)
